Stage of Life

Adolescents are at a flexible and quickly shifting stage of life. They often are seeking closeness and independence at the same time. My work with adolescents (ages 14 & up) takes into account their developmental stage as well as their individual needs, personality and family relationships.

My goal is to provide an empathic, non-judgmental space for the adolescent as a foundation for change. I work from a psychoanalytic perspective and integrate DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) as well as other approaches, as needed. Working on relationships to parents and other family members has importance in the treatment.
